Business Views
Business Views allow users to see data in a structured and meaningful way, based on the needs of specific roles or use cases. Rather than showing all available information at once, Business Views organize and display selected content to make it easier to interpret and act on.
Each Business View defines:
- Which properties are shown
- How they are grouped into sections
- Whether related data (e.g., linked entities) appears in tables
- Whether visual elements like images are included
These views are designed and configured by administrators. Depending on how an entity is classified, one or more Business Views may be available.
Viewing a Business View
When opening an entity, users may see a Business View selector at the top of the page. This dropdown lets users choose between available views—such as different perspectives on a Medicinal Product or Ingredient.
Each view may highlight a different set of information. For example:
- One view may focus on identifiers and regulatory data
- Another may highlight dosage or composition
- A third may list linked manufacturers in a table
Users can switch between views at any time. The layout and content change based on the configuration but always remain structured and sectioned for clarity.
Sections in a Business View
Each Business View is made up of sections. The type, layout, and content of each section vary depending on how the view was set up.
Sections may include:
- Property sections that show labels, codes, names, or categories
- Tables listing linked entities, such as related substances or manufacturing sites
- Images that illustrate molecular structures, packaging, or other visuals
Some sections span the full width of the page, while others are shown side by side. All sections are arranged to make it easy to understand the key aspects of the entity.
What if I Do not See a Business View?
If no Business View is available for a specific entity, the system will fall back to the default data layout. The availability of Business Views depends on how an organization has configured them.
If a Business View should exist or a new one should be created, please contact an administrator or use the Request feature to submit a suggestion.
